Heroes’ welcome for Welsh Olympians and Paralympians at the Senedd

The National Assembly for Wales, in partnership with the Welsh Government, Sport Wales and Disability Sport Wales will welcome Welsh Olympians and Paralympians to the Senedd on 14 September 2012.

The Team GB and Paralympics GB members will parade to the Senedd where they will be greeted on the steps by First Minister Carwyn Jones AM and the Assembly’s Presiding Officer, Rosemary Butler AM.

Olympians and Paralympians already confirmed to attend include:

  • Tom James, Olympic gold medalist in rowing;

  • Chris Bartley, Olympic silver medalist in rowing;

  • Mark Colbourne, winner of Paralympic gold and two silver medals in cycling;

  • Aled Davies, winner of two Paralympic gold and one bronze medals athletics, and;

  • Josie Pearson, Paralympic gold medalist in athletics.

A free concert will start outside the Senedd from 16.30 on Friday 14 September 2012. All are welcome.
