The National Assembly is embarking on its annual tour of Wales’s summer events.

First stop will be the Royal Welsh Show in Llanelwedd from 18-21 July, where the Assembly’s Outreach Team will be continuing its #KnowYourAM campaign to help people find out who represents them at the Senedd in Cardiff and how they can get involved in the Assembly’s work.

The Climate Change, Environment and Rural Affairs Committee will host a reception to introduce Members to stakeholders and discuss priorities to consider during the Fifth Assembly.

Next up will be the National Eisteddfod in Abergavenny from 1-5 August where, once again, the Assembly will host a rich programme of activities in the Societies Pavilion which highlight the important position it occupies at the centre of Welsh public life.

Among the events will be a discussion about what Brexit could mean for Wales, as well as a candid conversation between the Llywydd, Elin Jones AM, and journalist Catrin Hâf Jones. Questions will be invited from the audience and through social media using #AskLlywydd on Twitter, or by posting to the Assembly’s Facebook page.

The Culture, Welsh Language and Communications Committee, led by Chair of the Committee Bethan Jenkins AM, will also hold a panel discussion to consider ideas for issues it should be considering.

Finally, there will be a family fun weekend at the Senedd in Cardiff Bay, coinciding with the Harbour Festival from 27-29 August. On offer will be soft play, face painting, musical performances, tours of the iconic Senedd building and free Welsh cakes.
