National Assembly for Wales welcomes the reappointment of Auditor General for Wales

The National Assembly for Wales today (EDS: Tuesday, 16 June) welcomed the reappointment of Jeremy Colman to his post as Auditor General for Wales. He will continue in his role of leading the Wales Audit Office in providing independent scrutiny of public spending across Wales and inspecting the delivery of public services until 31 March 2013.

Claire Clancy, Chief Executive and Clerk to the Assembly said: “I am very pleased that Jeremy Colman will continue in his role with the Wales Audit Office. It is of great importance that we have a strong independent body that supports the Assembly in our roles of holding the Welsh Government to account and representing the interests of the people of Wales.”

Jonathan Morgan, Chair of the National Assembly Audit Committee said: “Since his appointment in 2005, Jeremy has led a number of high-profile examinations that have resulted in the improvement in the delivery of public services in Wales. I look forward to a continued close working relationship between the WAO and the Assembly’s Audit Committee.”
