PinkNews Award recognises Assembly’s LGBT+ friendly workplace

The National Assembly for Wales has been presented with a PinkNews award as a leading example of LGBT+ equality in the Public Sector. 

LGBT+ rights is central to the National Assembly for Wales Commission's motivation for a safe and equal environment for all. Fundamental to the Commission's activity is a strong LGBT+ network of members and allies, called OUT-NAW, which offers support and promotes positive inclusion and respect in the workplace. 

In response to receiving the accolade from PinkNews, Manon Antoniazzi, Chief Executive of National Assembly for Wales says; "This high praise is tribute to all our staff for their daily considerations in making the National Assembly for Wales a safe and inclusive space for everyone to work in. I'm extremely proud that their commitment has been recognised by Pink News, as a leader in the Public Sector Equality category." 

PinkNews is a leading voice in raising awareness of LGBT+ rights and experiences. It stands for fundamental rights of the LGBT+ community and their annual awards stand to recognise and celebrate the achievements of individuals, the LGBT+ community and allies. 

The awards ceremony was held in London on Wednesday 16 October 2019. 


Bleddyn Harris, Organisational Development Officer and co-chair of the National Assembly for Wales' LGBT+ network, accepted the award on behalf of the National Assembly for Wales at the PinkNews awards.
