Forty pupils from Ysgol Berfformio Dyffryn Tywi visited the National Assembly yesterday (Monday 14th May) in to proclaim the annual Urdd message of peace and goodwill to AMs and staff. The theme for this year's message, which is 85th message that has been delivered, was racism and it encouraged young people to campaign, to question and to raise awareness of racism around the world. The Assembly’s Presiding Officer, Lord Dafydd Elis-Thomas AM welcomed the pupils along with local Assembly Member Rhodri Glyn Thomas who invited them to share their message in a special presentation. Lord Elis-Thomas said: “I was delighted to welcome Ysgol Berfformio Dyffryn Tywi” to the Assembly to hear the message of peace and goodwill. It is vital that young people address the important issues of the day and learn about the democratic process.”
