Search for next intake of National Assembly apprentices is underway.
Whether you’re leaving full-time education, seeking a change in career or want a fresh start, an apprenticeship at the National Assembly for Wales is the first step towards your future.
The 2020 Apprenticeship Scheme is now open for applicants who want the opportunity to work and study at the heart of Welsh politics. Successful candidates will develop skills and knowledge on how to navigate and assist a busy and exciting workplace where Welsh laws are made. They will also study a Diploma in Business Administration whilst earning a living wage of £17,383.
The new apprentices will start their 12-month positions in January 2020 and will be given the opportunity to work at the National Assembly for Wales offices in Cardiff Bay. The range of experience available to the apprentices varies across the service areas: from assisting the human resources team, to contributing to communication and engagement campaigns, administrating the security and building facilities departments and working with the Assembly committee clerking teams on the front line of the democratic process.

Mahima Khan from Cardiff has gained valuable skills and insight on the working environment; “I feel like taking on an apprenticeship was a fantastic idea as it allows me to enhance work based learning skills and gives me an insight on the working environment. Applicants must be at least 16 years old and not be in full-time education or employment by the time the apprenticeship starts in January 2020. They must have English and Maths GCSE (A*- C) or equivalent, and do not have a qualification in a similar subject as Business Administration.
