Vice President of European Commission to visit National Assembly

Margot Wallström, The Vice President of the European Commission will visit the National Assembly of Wales on Thursday 31st January.

Ms Wallström who will visit the Assembly as part of a three day visit to Wales will address a committee of the whole Assembly at 3.30, before engaging in a debate with Assembly Members. This is the first time that a committee of the whole Assembly has been convened.

During her first visit to Wales Ms Wallström will also visit, Atlantic College, Cardiff High School, and Cardiff University where she will take part in a European Question Time.

Lord Dafydd Elis-Thomas, Llywydd of the National Assembly for Wales said: “It gives me great pleasure to welcome Vice President Wallström to the National Assembly for Wales. The Assembly has had very close links with the European Commission since our establishment so I am looking forward to hearing of the plans the Commission has for the future and to chairing a lively debate with the vice president and the Assembly Members.”
