Watch democracy live! New pod installed in Senedd

A new pod enabling visitors to the Senedd access to live and on demand coverage of UK and European national political institutions has been installed.
The pod is part of the BBC’s Democracy Live service, which was launched in November.
The service brings together coverage of proceedings in national political institutions and the European Parliament.
It builds on previously available content in the form of video streams, guides and biographies.
And the new pod will give visitors instant access to proceedings in the Senedd and other institutions.
Presiding Officer of the National Assembly for Wales, Lord Dafydd Elis-Thomas said: “The BBC’s Democracy Live service is an effective vehicle through which the public can watch first-hand the inter-workings of politics at the National Assembly for Wales and across the political spectrum in the UK and beyond.
“Widening participation in democracy is an ongoing priority and by offering the public another platform to access their elected representatives, opportunities to become better informed are more readily available than ever before”.
BBC Cymru Wales Head of News and Current Affairs Mark O’Callaghan said: “The idea behind BBC Democracy Live is to make the democratic process accessible and transparent to the Welsh public, to complement the Assembly’s own website and to enrich our coverage of political events across Wales, the rest of the UK and the world. BBC Wales is always looking for new ways to bring content to our audiences, and we’re pleased to offer this service at the Senedd.”
The National Assembly for Wales will have its own screen on the home page of the site - along with the other devolved UK legislatures – from which select business meetings and plenary sessions will be broadcast live.
The site will also offer information on how institutions operate across a devolved UK, what powers they have, as well as a search function across the videos for users to access representatives and issues of importance to users.
