LGBT History Month 2014

Published 14/02/2014   |   Last Updated 14/02/2014

In February each year, the Assembly marks Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender History Month. This year our LGBT staff network, OUT-NAW, and their allies will be displaying a showcase of their LGBT Heroes in the Senedd throughout the month focussing on influential and inspirational LGBT people. Those unable to visit the Senedd can click LGBT History month Feb 2014 to see a copy of the presentation. At the Assembly we are committed to promoting LGBT equality. We have been recognised as one of the top LGB-friendly organisations in the UK, and the Top Welsh Public Sector Employer. To show our commitment, we will also be flying the rainbow flags over our estate in Cardiff Bay and Colwyn Bay from 19 February. This is a very public display of our commitment to our LGBT staff and to LGBT people in Wales and across the world. It exemplifies the progress made toward LGBT equality and the challenges that still lay ahead. Click here for more information on LGBT History Month and here for events in Wales.
