Rugby Cardiff Lions RFC 15 – 31 National Assembly for Wales The National Assembly has ended LGBT History Month with a rugby match against the first and only gay rugby team in Wales. The Assembly’s rugby team took to the field on Saturday 23 February in a charity rugby match against the Cardiff Lions RFC. The match was played to raise money for Bowel Cancer UK. The friendly game was played in good spirit. As the Lions have only lost a handful of games in the last 5 years, our team knew that we would have to be at our absolute best to stand a chance of staying in this game. After a hard fought game, with some solid defence and quality attacking moves, we won the game. The Cardiff Lions will be building on what they learnt in their game against us for their upcoming fixture against Cardiff Bus. – Good Luck the Lions. We look forward to our return match with the Lions in April, which again will be a charity match for Bowel Cancer UK. Cardiff Lions RFC can be found on Facebook and Twitter
