On 15 and 17 May 2013 staff, volunteers and trustees of Citizens Advice Bureaus across Wales attended Outreach workshops on understanding and engaging with the National Assembly for Wales. The first workshop was held in the Pierhead building in Cardiff Bay with the second held in the National Assembly for Wales North Wales offices, Colwyn Bay. Assembly Members attended the workshops giving participants the opportunity to discuss various issues. Lynne Neagle AM and Alun Ffred Jones AM were present at the workshop in Cardiff Bay and Janet Finch-Saunders AM and Mark Isherwood AM were present in the workshop in Colwyn Bay, North Wales. Both were successful days with presentations from National Assembly for Wales Outreach Officers as well as Outreach Officers from the UK Parliament. Participants thoroughly enjoyed themselves with one participant seeing it as a fantastic opportunity to interact with their local AMs. One participant stated that:
“Speaking with the AMs was very useful. It gave me an opportunity to learn more about their roles and gave them a chance to have an insight in to our work.”
