“This exhibition celebrates the often-overlooked history and contributions of the Sikh community in Wales. It provides a unique platform to share stories, heritage, and culture while opening conversations that strengthen community ties.”

Sikhs in Wales brings hidden histories to life—through artifacts, photographs, film, and personal stories. It reflects on how Sikhs have protected their identity while also educating others about who they are.”

“For me, this is also part of a part of a personal story of being a Cardiff-born Sikh. It is a journey to discover and reconnect with my heritage, from the Sikh Gurus and the Sikh Empire, through to the generations who migrated and settled in Wales since the late 19th century.”

“We hope visitors will learn about the Sikh way of life, values, and contributions to local communities. Our history has been passed down through celebrations, cultural practices, and oral storytelling—all of which continue to shape who we are today.”

“By exploring these stories, we aim to highlight how understanding our past can inspire more inclusive and positive futures. We hope you leave with new insights, reflections, and perhaps a renewed connection to your own heritage.”
