Tiger Bay and the Docks: 1880s – 1950s

In partnership with The Heritage and Cultural Exchange, three new displays have been created in the Pierhead that give visitors a glimpse into life in Tiger Bay and the docks from the 1880s – 1950s.

Not Lost in Translation

Step into the heart of Welsh heritage and explore Tŷ Mawr Wybrnant, a 16th-century farmhouse nestled in the Wybrnant valley near Penmachno, Conwy North Wales. This historic home is the birthplace of Bishop William Morgan, whose 1588 translation of the Bible into Welsh - ‘Y Beibl Cyssegr-lan’ - ensured the survival of the Welsh language. Dates: 5 September - 30 October 2025.

Make it right

‘Make it Right’ is a poignant collaboration between The Water Poets and Carmarthen School of Art, connecting over 1,000 young creatives from Carmarthenshire and Alabama through art and music. Dates: 9 September – 1 November 2025.
