Hope for the Middle East
This Assembly:
1. Welcomes Open Doors' "Hope for the Middle East" campaign which seeks to:
a) Ensure current and future legal frameworks in Syria and Iraq fully promote and protect the rights of all citizens, irrespective of race, religion or other status.
b) Ensure improvement of living conditions for all citizens, including returning refugees and the internally displaced.
c) Identify and equip religious leaders and faith-based organisations to play a central role in reconciliation and rebuilding both Syrian and Iraqi societies.
2. Calls on the Welsh and UK Government to work with the international community to achieve these aims.
