To ask the Minister for Health and Social Services

Mark Isherwood (North Wales): How many veterans provided with therapies by NHS Wales - i.e. Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) - have committed suicide? (WAQ68115)

The Minister for  Health and Social Services (Mark Drakeford): Veterans’ NHS Wales, which is funded by Welsh Government, reports no veterans engaged in therapy has committed suicide, to its knowledge.

Combat Stress, a leading veterans’ mental health charity, states the suicide rate among UK veterans is not significantly different to the rate among the UK general population.
