Andrew RT Davies (South Wales Central): What discussions has the Minister or her officials had with the UK Government's Department for Local Government relating to assets of community value? (WAQ68484)

Answer received on 19 March 2015

The Minister for Communities and Tackling Poverty (Lesley Griffiths): Discussion has taken place with the UK Department for Communities and Local Government to gain insight into the impact in England of the Assets of Community Value Measure contained in the Localism Act 2011.

Dialogue will continue as appropriate in developing a distinct Welsh approach as referenced in my Written Statement dated the 14th of October 2014.

Andrew RT Davies (South Wales Central): Will the Minister outline the Welsh Government's current position in relation to assets of community value and the community right to bid, and does the Minister plan to introduce a similar scheme here in Wales? (WAQ68485)

Answer received on 17 March 2015

The Minister for Communities and Tackling Poverty (Lesley Griffiths): I have previously issued a Written Statement on 12 October 2014 which demonstrated the need to develop an alternative approach to Assets of Community Value in Wales. I intend to make a further Written Statement before Easter 2015 to outline the next steps we will be taking.
