Ed Williams has been appointed as the new Director of Resources for the Senedd Commission.

Ed has worked for 20 years at the Greater London Authority, most recently as the Chief Officer for the London Assembly, working closely with three Mayors of London.

As Director of Resources, he will shape the Commission’s current and future services, ensuring that the organisation has the capabilities and capacity to support the Senedd to run efficiently and effectively during a time of accelerated change. The appointment was made following a rigorous competitive recruitment process.

Manon Antoniazzi, the Clerk and Chief Executive of the Senedd said: “During the Covid-19 pandemic, the Senedd adapted quickly to continue our role of scrutinising the Welsh Government and being a voice for the people of Wales. The challenge facing us now is to adapt the way we work and ensure our capacity matches our ambition to be a modern, agile parliament.

“It is good news for the Senedd that we have attracted such an experienced and highly regarded director to join our high-performing team. I’m sure Ed’s knowledge and drive will be invaluable as we navigate a period of transformational change.”

Ed Williams said: "I’m delighted to be joining the Senedd at such an exciting time. With the prospect of electoral reform and flexible ways of working there are real challenges and great opportunities ahead. Making sure the Commission has the right resources in the right place at the right time will ensure we continue to offer outstanding parliamentary support to Members."

Ed will take up his post in February 2022.
