The Chair of the National Assembly’s Public Accounts Committee, Nick Ramsay AM, has released the following statement concerning the Auditor General for Wales report ‘Community Safety in Wales’.

Mr Ramsay said:

"Community safety featured as a key priority in the last programme for government and remains a major area of importance for citizens.

“The report from the Auditor General provides a detailed critique of how those organisations that have responsibility for community safety - both nationally in the UK and in Wales - are currently working together and use resources to deliver improvement.

“The report highlights some significant weaknesses in current arrangements and the recommendations focus on addressing some serious issues of concern that need to be addressed by the various bodies charged with community safety in Wales.”

The full report will be available from the Wales Audit Office.
