The Chair of the External Affairs and Additional Legislation Committee, David Rees AM, has issued the following statement in response to the Wales Audit Office report ‘Managing the impact of Brexit on EU Structural Funds’.

Mr Rees said:

“This important report looks at some of the implications of Brexit for EU funding that comes to Wales to support projects and investments in many communities.

“As we have previously highlighted in our work on regional policy, it is vital that Wales is no worse off in terms of equivalent funding after we leave the EU.

“We will now consider the report’s findings, as a Committee, as part of our ongoing work programme in the autumn term.”

The full report is available from the Wales Audit Office.

The External Affairs and Additional Legislation Committee has conducted a number of inquiries examining the impact of Brexit in Wales.
