First Minister to be quizzed on Welsh Government’s response to economic crisis.

First Minister, Rhodri Morgan, will appear before a cross-party committee of Assembly Members on October 1.

He’ll face questions, from the Scrutiny of the First Minister Committee, on how his government has handled the current economic slump and what effect it will have on frontline public services in Wales.

“Many people across Wales have been directly affected by the current economic turndown,” said committee chair Darren Millar AM.

“Whether they’ve lost their job or seen shops and services close as a result, it’s a topic that everyone in Wales is talking about.

“That’s why it’s important that we, as Assembly Members, ensure that the Welsh Government is doing all that it can to lessen the impact on the people of Wales.”

The Scrutiny of the First Minister Committee meets twice a year to question the First Minister on a series of topics.

This year the session will take place in Committee Room 4 on October 1, between 9am and 11am.
