On 3 September, the Presiding Officer Rosemary Butler AM attended the Cardiff LGBT Mardi Gras.

She toured the festival site to meet with stall holders and attendees. She concluded her visit with an address to the crowd from the main stage, explaining that one of the founding principles of the Assembly is that of equality. She told the crowd that they could visit the Assembly Bus at the event to influence the development of the Assembly’s new Equality Plan, and to find out more about how the Assembly represents the interests of Wales and its people, makes laws for Wales and holds the Welsh Government to account.
