Secretary of State for Wales to address the National Assembly for Wales

The Secretary of State for Wales will formally present the UK Government’s legislative programme to the National Assembly for Wales at the Senedd on Wednesday 23 May.

The Right Honourable Cheryl Gillan MP will address Assembly Members during Plenary. A debate concerning the UK Government’s legislative programme will follow.

Under the Government of Wales Act 2006 the Secretary of State for Wales is required to attend Plenary as part of the UK Government’s consultation on its legislative programme, which is set out in the Queen’s Speech, as soon as is reasonably practicable after the beginning of each session of Parliament.
