We are pleased to announce that the National Assembly for Wales will be visiting Wrexham during the week commencing March 23 2015. The purpose of the visit will be to engage directly with the people of Wrexham to ensure they know:

  • who represents them in the Senedd, Cardiff Bay;
  • how the work of the Assembly affects their lives on a daily basis, and;
  • how they can influence the work of the National Assembly for Wales.

 

We chose Wrexham as the destination for our first visit of this kind because:

  • It had the second lowest turnout during the 2011 Assembly election, after Swansea East;
  • It is the fourth largest town in Wales and the most populated town in north Wales (over 61,000 in 2011);
  • We have a number of partners in the area that can help ensure that our programme for the week is as success.

A panel of female Assembly Members will discuss their personal journey into politics and the obstacles they had to overcome to be successful women in public life.
