Assembly Members will be able to pay their respects to the former First Minister Rhodri Morgan during an extended Plenary on Tuesday, 23 May.

Plenary will start an hour earlier than usual at 12.30 with an opportunity for AMs on all sides of the Siambr to pay tribute to Mr Morgan, who died on Wednesday 17 May aged 77.

He became a Member of Parliament in 1987 and an AM when the Assembly first started in 1999.

He was First Minister of Wales between 2000 and 2009 before stepping down from the Assembly in 2011.

There will be a break in proceedings between the tributes and the commencement of regular Assembly Business will follow.

A book of condolence will continue to be open for visitors to the Senedd and the Assembly’s office in Colwyn Bay.

Flags will remain at half-mast until further notice.

Plenary will be streamed live on Senedd TV and the Assembly’s Youtube channel.
