Fairness for Former ASW Workers

This Assembly

Notes:

- the recommendations of the Parliamentary Ombudsman, stating that former ASW workers should be paid 100% compensation.

- that their pensions would have been safe if the UK Government had provided the protections  it assured workers had been put in place.

- that workers and pensioners in failed banks have had 100% protection for their pensions, despite the Pension Protection Fund since 2005 never promising 100% replacement for failed company workers' pensions.

Calls on the First Minister to discuss with the UK government ways in which the former ASW workers can receive 100% compensation for losses from their pensions.
