British Sign Language on UTV News in Wales

This Assembly:

- Calls on UTV to restore the sign language evening news summary removed by ITV Wales in March 2009.

- Believes that access to regional news is fundamental to the inclusion of deaf people in public life and joins calls made by the following organisations for this to be recognised with the reintroduction of a permanent, daily broadcast: Wales Council for Deaf People, National Deaf Children's Society, RNID Cymru, British Deaf Association Wales, Deaf Broadcasting UK, Deaf Access Cymru, Wales Deaf Broadcasting Council.
