Terms and Conditions

General

The websites senedd.wales, senedd.cymru and senedd.tv are websites published and managed by the Senedd Commission ('We' or 'the Commission'). By using these sites you, the user ('you' or 'your'), are accepting these Terms and Conditions ('Terms').

The Welsh Parliament ('the Senedd') website and its associated sites are maintained for your personal use and viewing. Access and use by you of these sites constitutes acceptance by you of these Terms, which take effect from the date of first use.

Copyright statement

Most of the material featured on these sites have been made under the direction or control of the Commission and the copyright (and any other intellectual property rights) in such material if owned by the Commission ('Commission copyright'). Commission copyright protected material may be reproduced free of charge in any format or medium without requiring specific permission. This is subject to the Terms of Use set out below. Where any of the Commission copyright items on these sites are being republished or copied to others, the source of the material must be identified and the copyright status acknowledged. The Commission is also content for users to establish hypertext links to these sites.

Some of the material featured on these sites reproduces material submitted to the Assembly by third parties for the purposes of Senedd Business and is subject to the copyright of those third parties. The permission to reproduce Commission copyright material does not extend to third party copyright material. Before reproducing the third party copyright material you must satisfy yourself that you have a right to do so without infringing copyright. Where you do not have a right to reproduce such material, authorization must be obtained from the copyright holder(s) concerned before reproducing the material.

Terms of Use

Any downloading, reproduction and/or use of Commission copyright protected material is subject to the material being reproduced accurately, not in a misleading context and not in a manner that may bring the Senedd and/or the Commission into disrepute.

You may not use the material for satirical purposes; or advertising, promotion, commercial sponsorship, or any other form of publicity for commercial purposes or financial gain.

You may not use the material on any website, social media or any other platform that promotes, encourages, or facilitates illegal activity; encourages hatred on grounds of age, disability, gender identity or reassignment, marriage or civil partnership, race, religion or belief, sex, or sexual orientation or promotes, encourages, or facilitates anti-social behaviour.

Logos

The names, images and logos identifying the Senedd are proprietary marks of the Commission. Copying or use of the Senedd logo and/or other third party logos accessed via this website, related Welsh Parliament websites or from any of our digital channels, is not permitted without prior approval from the copyright owner. Requests for permission to use the Senedd logo should be directed through the general enquiry form, by contacting the Information Team by telephone or email, or by writing to:

The request should tell us how and why you wish to use our logos. Please include your contact details name, address, telephone number, and email.

Hyperlinking

You do not have to ask permission to link directly to pages hosted on these sites. We do not object to you linking directly to the information that is hosted on our site. Welsh Parliament web pages should load into the user's entire window. We do not permit our pages to be loaded into frames on your site.

If you wish to include Senedd web pages within a portal site, then please contact us using the general query form. Please include your contact details name, address, telephone number, and e-mail and a description of your portal site.

Using video and audio clips from Senedd.tv

Use of video and audio clips from Senedd.tv is subject to Commission copyright and the Terms of Use set out above.

You are encouraged to use and re-use the material that is available to download and share on Senedd.tv, with only a few conditions.

Clips of Commission copyright protected material taken for Senedd.tv may be downloaded and stored on your equipment free of charge without requiring specific permission but always subject to and in accordance with these Terms. Any such downloaded clips remain subject to Commission copyright and you are granted a non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-assignable, terminable royalty free licence to download and store such clips on your equipment. We may terminate this licence at any time by notice to you (which will normally be by email, but we reserve the right to use other forms of notification). If we terminate this licence, you must cease using and irretrievably delete any downloaded clips in your possession or over which you have control.

You may edit the content of downloaded clips into different formats to enable viewing, and you may take steps to improve the accessibility of the material, including adding captions and/or subtitles, subject to and in accordance with these Terms. Material must not be adapted, altered or manipulated in any other way.

Virus protection

We make every effort to check and test material on the Senedd website. It is your responsibility to run an anti-virus program on all downloaded material downloaded. We cannot accept any responsibility for any loss, disruption or damage to your data, your computer systems or otherwise which may occur whilst using material derived from the Assembly website.

Warranties and liability

The Senedd website, and Senedd and Commission information, products and services (or third party information, products and services), are provided 'as is' without any representation or endorsement made and without warranty of any kind whether express or implied, including but not limited to the implied warranties of satisfactory quality, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, compatibility, security and accuracy.

We do not warrant that the material contained in these sites will be uninterrupted or error free, that defects will be corrected, or that these sites or the servers that make them available are free of viruses or represent the full functionality, accuracy, reliability of the materials.

You warrant that you will comply fully with all laws and regulations that apply to your use of any Senedd or Commission material you download or use.
In no event will we be liable for any loss or damage including, without limitation, indirect or consequential loss or damage, or any loss or damage whatsoever arising from use or loss of use of, data, or profits, arising out of or in connection with the use of the Senedd websites.

We may change these Terms or terminate any licence under them at any time. We will update the Terms on www.senedd.wales/en/help/Pages/terms.aspx when a change is made. It is your responsibility to check that you are complying with the updated terms.

You may not transfer or sublicense your rights or obligations under these Terms to any third party without our prior written consent.

These Terms apply even if any licence under them is terminated.

Any failure or delay by us in exercising our rights under these Terms will not be construed as a waiver of those rights.
