Our values define what we do and how we do it.

These behaviours shape how we treat our customers and colleagues each day. They help us to make the Senedd a great place to work.

Respect

We are inclusive, kind, and value each other's contributions in delivering excellent services.

Passion

We are purposeful in our support of democracy and pull together to make a difference for the people of Wales.

Pride

We embrace innovation and celebrate our achievements together as a team.

What do our colleagues say?

Leanne

I’m Leanne, Chief People Officer and Senior Social Mobility Champion. Raised in the South Wales Valleys, I was the first in my family to go to university. My path into HR wasn’t linear—marked by grief (I lost my mam when I was 20 and in Uni), doubt, and imposter syndrome—but I kept going.

I believe where you start shouldn’t define where you end up. That’s why I helped launch RISE, our social mobility network, and advocate for fair access to opportunities. I’m passionate about creating a workplace where everyone regardless of background can thrive.

Social mobility is personal to me. If I can help even one person believe they can “become” something, it’s worth it.

Lukas

I’m a Deputy Committee Clerk and I love my job. At the Senedd, I get to witness Welsh democracy in action and support the Committee in its role in holding the Welsh Government to account – especially in key areas, like the Environment and Transport.

Working here means being part of something bigger, where every report, recommendation and conversation can help improve people’s lives. And it’s not just me – my colleagues are passionate about building a better Wales for everyone, no matter their background or where they come from.

Shahzad

My name is Shahzad, and I joined the Security team 7 years ago.

Working as a Security Officer at the Senedd, every day is different. Whether it’s meeting guests attending a live debate, or greeting students that have come to learn about Welsh democracy, I make sure everyone has the chance to experience the building safely.

During my time at the Senedd, I have been privileged to be the last mace bearer for Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and the first mace bearer for His Majesty King Charles III. I was also invited to attend a reception at Buckingham Palace to recognise the significant work and achievements of the Senedd.

Bilingual Senedd

We are proud to be a bilingual organisation that works and communicates in both Welsh and English. We provide services to Members of the Senedd and the public bilingually.

You don’t have to speak fluent Welsh to join us. We advertise many roles at a Welsh Courtesy Level, which asks for a basic understanding of the language, and an ability to pronounce Welsh names and simple phrases. This will not be assessed before you join us. However, if you start with us and do not meet the Welsh Courtesy Level, you will be given training by one of our dedicated Welsh tutors.

So that we can provide bilingual services effectively, many of the posts that we advertise  require a specific Welsh language level (1-5). These jobs will be clearly marked on both the job description and advert.

If you apply for one of these jobs you will have to complete a Welsh assessment during the recruitment process.
