Inclusive recruitment

Here’s how we are making sure our recruitment process is inclusive.

When recruiting new employees, we ensure that:

  • Employees on our recruitment panels come from a diverse range of backgrounds and job functions. Panel members complete our CPD-accredited inclusive recruitment training module.
  • We use a competency-based approach with structured interviews designed to be fair and inclusive for everyone.
  • As a Disability Confident Employer, we guarantee an interview for disabled candidates that meet the minimum satisfactory criteria for the role.
  • Candidates can request reasonable adjustments to the recruitment process. If you would like to speak to a member of our team in confidence, contact jobs@senedd.wales or 0300 200 7588

Once you join us, we will:

  • Ensure you have the necessary tools to perform your role safely and effectively by asking new starters to complete a health questionnaire, reviewed by our occupational health nurse. Our occupational health nurse can advise on ways that we can support you in the workplace to enable you to carry out your role safely and effectively while supporting your health and wellbeing.
  • Make you aware of the support available to you in the form of reasonable adjustments, workplace equality networks, inclusive policies, occupational health support, wellbeing initiatives and learning and development opportunities.
