A petition to bring NHS Wales’ technology of prosthetic limbs in line with NHS England and NHS Scotland.

“We call…to ensure that funding is in place to enable limb amputees within Wales to have prosthetic technology at least equal to that which is available within the English and Scottish NHS.” - David Bradley, Petitioner.

The petition raised awareness of:

  • Wales not offering the same support to amputees as other UK nations
  • the level of prosthetic technology available to patients in England and Scotland.

What happened?

  • Welsh Government announced £700,000 funding to provide specialist Microprocessor Controlled Prosthetic Knees to patients in Wales.
  • Wales in now in line with the other UK nations.
