Assembly Committee to meet in Connah’s Quay

The Enterprise and Learning Committee of the National Assembly for Wales will hold its next meeting on Friday 25 April in Connah’s Quay. The meeting will take place at 9.00am at Deeside College.

The Committee will be gathering evidence for its current inquiry into the economic contribution of higher education.

Members will listen to presentations from the North East Wales Institute, Fforwm, Deeside College, Coleg Llandrillo and Airbus UK. After the meeting, the Committee will visit Airbus UK to take a tour of the facilities.

Chair of the Committee, Gareth Jones AM said: “The higher education sector is facing a number of challenges from funding to contributing to the improvement in the skills of the Welsh workforce. It is very important that Assembly Committees meet in other parts of Wales as well as Cardiff as this allows Members to gain an insight into the aspirations of communities in different parts of the country.

The meeting takes place at the Conference Centre, Deeside College Connah’s Quay, Flintshire from 9:00am until 11.00am. Further information about the committee and an agenda
