Audit Committee to discuss “Merlin” computer contract
06 April 2006The Assembly Audit Committee is to look at the Auditor-General for Wales’s report into the contract to provide ICT and business change services for the Assembly.
In his report, the Auditor-General, Jeremy Colman, said the procurement of the “Merlin” contract was generally handled well and it saved money on its predecessor, but called on officials to ensure that the contract provides value for money and delivers its full benefits. The Permanent Secretary, Sir Jon Shortridge, and another senior Welsh Assembly Government officials, Michael Harrington, will be giving evidence to the Committee.
