National Assembly Committee questions level of support to encourage next Sir Terry Matthews

The National Assembly for Wales’s Enterprise and Business Committee is launching a new inquiry examining the Welsh Government’s approach to promoting youth entrepreneurship.

The Committee has opened a public consultation on the issue and is inviting submissions from interested people and organisations.

Among the questions the Committee is asking are:

• What are the experiences of young entrepreneurs in Wales?

• What is the scale of Welsh Government resource and funding targeted at the promotion of youth entrepreneurship? Is it sufficient?

• What opportunities are presented by increasing youth entrepreneurship as a means of tackling youth unemployment and inactivity?

• What examples of good practice in youth entrepreneurship policy can be identified within Wales, more widely within the UK and internationally?

“This inquiry will look at the approach the Welsh Government is taking to promoting young entrepreneurs and what steps can be taken to improve that support,” said Nick Ramsay AM, Chair of the Enterprise and Business Committee.
