National Assembly to promote learning Welsh through National Limerick Day

12 May 2010 The National Assembly for Wales has today launched a competition to coincide with National Limerick Day.

To take part in the competition, participants should either compose their own limerick based on the theme of learning Welsh or the Eisteddfod, or should complete the last line of the following limerick:

I'm 'dysgu Cymraeg' every Monday,
for some it's considered a 'funday',
with nasal mutations,
and verb conjugations,
...................

Entries can be submitted in the feedback section of the Pierhead website www.pierhead.org, or in person in the Futures Gallery at the Pierhead. The closing date for entries is May 31st.

The competition will be judged by Presiding Officer Lord Dafydd Elis-Thomas, and the top three entries will win prizes from the National Assembly shop in the Senedd.

All entries must be accompanied by a name, a phone number and an email address.
