Petitions Committee to discuss Children’s Hospital

Petitioners calling for quicker action to complete the Children’s Hospital for Wales, will meet with the National Assembly’s Petitions Committee on Thursday September 20th. The petitioners have been invited to give a presentation to the Committee and to discuss their petition with the Members. The Committee will also receive updates on previous petitions on the closure of Glyndulais Residential Home in Crynant Neath, Port Talbot and the Re-opening of Carno Railway Station as well as examining several new petitions referred to the committee by the Presiding Officer including:
  • Banning Plastic Bags (submitted following a competition organised by BBC Wales)
  • Petition by Kidney Wales Foundation to Increase the Number of Organ Donors in Wales
  • NHS Dental Charges
  • North Torfaen’s Swimming Pool and Leisure Centre
Chair of the Committee Val Lloyd AM said: “The number of petitions that the Committee has received over the summer recess is very encouraging and I am very pleased that the opportunity the Assembly is offering the people of Wales to engage with us on issues that are important to them is being taken up by so many people. The Committee has a large workload to get through this term and I and the other members of the committee look forward to the challenge. The meeting takes place in Committee Room 1, the Senedd from 1.00pm until 3.00pm. Full details and an agenda
