Social media first for National Assembly - #POSenedd Q&A

The National Assembly for Wales’s social network channels are being used for a social media first.

The Presiding Officer, Dame Rosemary Butler AM, asked people to send in questions, through Twitter, that relate to her “Women in Public Life” campaign which aims to encourage more women to enter public office.

Those questions were submitted using the #POSenedd hashtag.

Dame Rosemary will now answer those questions directly via the Assembly’s YouTube channel.

“One of the core objectives of the Assembly during the Fourth Assembly is to increase engagement with the people of Wales,” said Dame Rosemary.

“Part of that must include using social media channels in an innovative and inclusive way.

“I think this is an exciting way to get people involved in my Women in Public Life campaign which aims to address one of the main problems in public life today – that is, the under-representation of women in public life.

“We certainly had some interesting questions and my answers can now be viewed on the Assembly’s YouTube channel.”
