Speed networking event to inform AMs of health issues in Wales

13 July 2011

Assembly Members and staff took part in a speed networking event with stakeholders from the health sector at the Pierhead on Wednesday 13 July.

Attending organisations each had three minutes to highlight the key issues facing the health sector to those attending. Mark Drakeford AM, chair of the Assembly's Health and Social Care Committee, opened the event noting the importance of keeping an open dialogue with all organisations, including those not present at the event, to ensure that the Assembly’s work is informed by experts in the field.  Alex McMillian, who spoke on behalf of those organisations, welcomed the opportunity to meet with Members and discuss the matters of importance to those organisations working in the field of health.

Key themes included the need to deliver better services in a tighter financial climate and the need to work in an integrated and collaborative manner across health and social services.

Participants noted their enthusiasm for continuing this dialogue and widening it during the course of this Assembly.
