The Assembly at The National Eisteddfod

Visitors to the National Eisteddfod in Mold this week (August 4th- 11th) will have an opportunity to learn more about the National Assembly for Wales at the Assembly’s exhibition. Activities on the stand to help younger visitors learn more about the Assembly include crosswords, a jigsaw, wordsearches and board games, while the whole family can join in a daily game of AMs Bingo to help them identify new and more experienced Assembly Members. On Monday and Tuesday there will be an art workshop for children to learn about the responsibilities and powers of the Assembly and to illustrate what the Assembly means to them. They will be assisted by Assembly mascots Dil, Dot and Cyber the Spider who will be on the stand all day. Visitors can learn about working in a bilingual environment, and budding translators will have the opportunity to try their hand at simultaneous translation during translation workshops on Tuesday Wednesday and Thursday.   Welsh Learners will also have an opportunity to quiz Assembly Members who have learnt, and are learning the language in a special Question Time Event aimed primarily at Welsh learners, on Thursday August 9th at 2.00 pm. Members of the public will be invited to submit questions for the event throughout the week, or they can ask a question on the day.
