The National Assembly for Wales’s Enterprise and Business Committee are currently holding an inquiry into the effectiveness of the Welsh Government’s approach to promoting youth entrepreneurship. What steps can be taken to improve or strengthen support for potential young entrepreneurs in Wales? On Wednesday 17 April 2013, Lowri Williams and Caryl Mai Williams, from the Assembly’s Outreach team were present at the Young Enterprise Wales, North Wales Regional Finals collecting evidence for the Committee’s Inquiry. Young Enterprise Wales, North Wales Regional Finals For many the experience of setting up their own business and creating their own product is very enjoyable but others felt that it could be very time-consuming especially when thinking about product ideas. Lowri Williams said, “We spoke to many young people and their teachers who all put forward excellent points and ideas for the Enterprise and Business Committee’s Inquiry into Youth Entrepreneurship. “The information we have gathered will now contribute to a video that will be shown to the National Assembly’s Enterprise and Business Committee, and will help to form its conclusions and recommendations.” We would like to say a big thank you to all the students and teachers for coming along to speak to us. The Outreach Team will continue to consult with young entrepreneurs across Wales.
