The following is a proposal for a Member Bill tabled during the Sixth Senedd:

Independent Visit Wales Bill
Policy Objectives of the proposed Bill:
Make Visit Wales an independent body as are ‘Visit Britain’ and ‘Visit Scotland’;
Allow Visit Wales to be run by tourism experts to establish a unique selling point for Wales and increase sector representation more fully;
Change Visit Wales from being an arms-length body to an independent one which the Welsh Government can encourage, rather than it having to strictly adhere to Welsh Government tourism policies;
Encourage Visit Wales to focus on how best to capitalise on Welsh TV and film culture and major events in Wales and how best those events can be spread across Wales;
Allow the ability for an independent Visit Wales to work jointly with other tourism bodies, independent from Government direction.
